Limitations of Psychology of Religion

Psychology of Religion has its own limitations. There has always been a tension in fixing the boundaries for Psychology on Religion. As we can observe there are number of similarities among the religious practices of people, though they are geographically miles apart. Psychology tries to provide with an answer basing on the human nature and man's quest to satisfy his needs which are quite considerably common any where around the world. Though religion which operates within the boundaries of this world and on basic human nature is something external where psychology will not be able to launch itself. The logic of Psychology has to loose hold at certain point. Psychology of Religion may try and give all possible explanations of Religion but it never has the final word on Religion. What finally matters is the individual's perception of the Supreme Power and his or her own experience.
