Are psychological problems increasing due to recession?

Yes, the psychological problems in the society are increasing due to recession. Some of the problems that are associated with this are fear, anxiety, stress, depression, etc. Recession has subjected the entire society into mass depression. The entire globe is under stress. We can easily feel it as we move around. Everyone is feeling thing pinch of recession and its effects. It is affecting not only the middle class people and the poor, but even the rich and the affluent in the society have their own anxieties that result from recession. People's buying capacity have come down drastically. There are compulsive shoppers who shop when they are afraid, when they are stressed etc, even when there is no real need for buying things that they buy. This condition is called Oniomania or Shopoholism. Such people are unable to get their fix through shopping because they don't have that kind of money at their disposal. When they are without any relief for their stress through shopping, they can end up becoming kleptomaniacs which indicates a condition whereby the individual ends up with compulsive stealing habit.
